Survival Blade, Brown Micarta Handle, Full-Tang Bushcraft & Hunting Knife

Built for Real Bushcraft, Survival & Hunt

When you only want to carry one primary field knife, it needs to do everything: build shelter, process firewood, break down game, and still carve feather sticks at the end of the day.

DXH 1101 was built exactly for that role.

This handmade Damascus tracker knife combines a 5.5" multi-zone survival blade with a full-tang spine and a grippy brown Micarta handle. It’s compact enough to ride on your belt all day, but aggressive enough to be your main bushcraft and hunting tool when you step off the trail.

Whether you’re setting up a camp in the Rockies, running a hunting lease in the Midwest, or just want a serious Damascus survival knife for your pack, DXH 1101 is designed to earn its place in your kit—not just your display shelf.

Key Features

Salient Features

  • Tracker blade geometry for all-in-one use – 5.5" multi-zone Damascus blade designed to chop, slice, carve, scrape, and feather-stick with one tool. Gives you a forward chopping section, a mid-belly for slicing, and a rear section tuned for carving and feather sticks—plus flat sections and notches for scraping and utility tasks.
  • Performance Damascus steel (1095 & 15N20) – Over 352 pattern-welded layers, oil-quenched and heat-treated to ~58–60 HRC for a tough, razor-sharp edge that stands up to batoning, notching, and repeated camp use.
  • Full-tang survival strength – One solid piece of steel from tip to pommel. There are no hidden tangs or weak spots, so you can confidently baton through logs, pry, and work hard without babying the blade.
  • 90° squared spine for fire starting – The spine is ground square to reliably throw sparks off a ferro rod and scrape bark or tinder—so your knife becomes part of your fire kit, not just a cutting tool.
  • Brown Micarta handle that grips when it matters – The 4.5" contoured Micarta handle features deep curves and finger grooves that lock into your palm. Micarta remains grippy in rain, mud, snow, or when wearing gloves or even when wet, cold, or bloody..
  • Premium leather belt sheath – Hand-stitched sheath keeps your knife secure on your belt and within easy reach around camp.

Heritage-forged – Hand-made in Wazirabad, Pakistan, a historic center of Damascus bladesmithing—each pattern is one-of-a-kind.

Materials & Make

Crafted for Work, Finished Like a Collectible

DXH 1101 is built as a workhorse first and a collectible second.

The tracker geometry gives you distinct working zones: a forward, weight-forward section that bites into wood for chopping and notching, a mid-belly that glides through rope, hide, and camp food, and a rear control section that’s perfect for feather sticks, notches, and finer carving.

Paired with a full-tang Damascus core of 352+ layers, you get a blade that’s made to take abuse, hold an edge, and keep cutting after cheaper production knives call it quits.

For a plain-language explanation of Damascus steel and its layered construction, have a deeper look at what defines real Damascus steel.

The brown Micarta handle is shaped with deep finger grooves and a palm swell so the knife naturally seats in your hand. Micarta has long been trusted in professional tools because it remains grippy when wet, muddy, or cold—exactly when you need control the most in a survival knife.

Care & Maintenance

Damascus steel rewards a little extra care

  • Use these items appropriately. Avoid using them as a pry bar, can opener, etc.
  • Hand wash only with mild soap – never put a Damascus blade in the dishwasher.
  • Dry thoroughly after each use, including around the guard and handle. Pay attention to the spine and edge.
  • While not in use, keep items clean and dry to prevent contamination & rust.
  • Oil the blade lightly before storage, especially in humid climates or if the knife won’t be used for a while.
  • Store in a dry place. For long-term storage, keep the knife out of the sheath or make sure the sheath is completely dry.
  • Surface rust can be wiped off with a vinegar and lime mixture, followed by recoating with oil for long-lasting rust prevention.
  • Do not scrub with steel wool; wipe and rub in the direction of Damascus patterns for cleaning.
  • Sharpen on quality stones or a guided system and hone regularly to maintain a keen edge.

With simple care, your DXH 1101 will stay sharp, rust-resistant, and visually striking for years to come.

Why Us

Heritage Forged in Wazirabad

Each DXH 1101 is hand-forged in Wazirabad, Pakistan—a city with a long, documented history as a global hub for cutlery and Damascus steel. Generations of bladesmiths have refined their techniques here, producing blades that have traveled the world.

Your knife moves through a small-batch process: steels are stacked, forge-welded, and folded into 352+ layers; blades are profiled into their tracker shape and heat-treated; each knife is hand-ground, etched to reveal its random / waterfall Damascus pattern, and finished with custom-fit brown Micarta scales. A matched leather sheath is stitched and fitted.

The result? No two DXH 1101 knives are ever identical. Grain lines, pattern flow, and handle character vary naturally from piece to piece. When you carry this knife, you’re carrying a uniquely forged tool with a story written in its steel.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is a tracker knife and why choose it over a regular hunting knife?

A: A tracker knife uses a multi-zone blade that combines chopping, slicing, scraping, and carving areas on one profile. DXH 1101 is ideal if you want one knife that can build shelter, prep firewood, process game, and handle fine camp chores without switching tools.

Q2: Is this knife better for hunting or general survival/bushcraft?

A: It’s built for both. The curved belly and fine point make game processing efficient, while the forward weight, spine, and scraper zones give you the extra capability you need for bushcraft and survival tasks like batoning, feather sticks, and light chopping.

Q3: Is DXH 1101 dishwasher safe?

A: No. Like all high-carbon Damascus steel knives, DXH 1101 should never go in the dishwasher. Always hand-wash, dry immediately, and oil lightly to protect the blade and its pattern.

Q4: Can I use the spine with a ferro rod to start a fire?

A: Yes. The 90° squared spine is specifically ground to throw hot sparks from a ferro rod and to scrape bark or tinder. It’s a practical addition to your fire-starting kit in emergencies or extended backcountry trips.

Q5: Is DXH 1101 mass-produced?

A: No. DXH 1101 is made in small batches by experienced bladesmiths in Wazirabad. Each pattern, etch, and handle varies slightly, so the knife you receive is genuinely handmade—not a factory-stamped clone.
